由新葡的京集团35222vip主办的“信通论坛”活动特别邀请伦敦大学玛丽女王公司苏磊教授作学术交流。具体安排如下,欢迎广大师生参加。

一、主 题Learning enabled optical imaging and sensing

二、主讲人:Professor Lei Su, Queen Mary University of London (伦敦玛丽女王大学,苏磊教授)

三、时 间:2026年4月15日(周三)14:00

四、地 点:科研楼B253

五、内容简介:

This talk highlights some recent work in my group on optical devices and wearable sensors, including ultrathin imaging probes, perovskite optoelectronics and wearable ultrasound sensors.

Multimode fibres (MMFs) are high-capacity information channels. The MMF output speckles contain rich information and have been used in different applications. My group has been developing MMF based optical devices. This talk will introduce the recent developments in his group on this topic, mainly focusing on using a single MMF as an imaging probe or a shape sensor, and utilising machine learning to achieve image and shape classifications.

I will also introduce the fabrication, characterisation and potential applications of single-crystal perovskite optical devices recently developed in my group.

Furthermore, a short overview on wearable ultrasound sensor for medical application will be introduced.

六、主讲人简介:

Lei Su is Professor of Photonics in the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). He brings over 15 years of interdisciplinary research experience in sensors and instrumentation, with current work focusing on sensing devices and systems for detection, imaging, and monitoring - interfacing with artificial intelligence, materials science, chemistry, and nanotechnology.

Prof Su has a multidisciplinary research background. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, followed by a PhD in Optical Communication from Nanyang Technological University. He then undertook five years of postdoctoral training in optical chemical sensors and spectroscopy in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, where he was also a College Postdoctoral Research Associate at Hughes Hall. Subsequently, he worked on biomedical optics at St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College London.

Prof Su currently holds over £7.5 million live research funding as Investigators, with support from UKRI and the European Union. His research has led to publications including articles onNature CommunicationsandScience Advances. His work has also been featured inThe Economist(2024),Materials Today(2022), andOptics & Photonics News(2022). Prof. Su was named among the “Photonics 100: The Industry’s Most Innovative People” byElectro Opticsin 2023. Most recently, a medical imaging device developed by his team led to the founding of a university spin-out, Pryfiber Ltd., backed by the European HealthTech Venture Builder.
